ROSHEN increases production capacity in EU
11 May 2011The first phase of Klaipeda confectionery modernization was finished in late April.
Old equipment was completely replacement and new lines for production of sugar and milk
caramel were installed. Full capacity will be 15,000 tons per year. After modernization
factory’s product range will added with hard candies with fillings – «Citrus Juice»,
«Roshen Strawberry», «Roshen Milk», «Sweet Drop». Current products will be sold in the EU
internal market, and also will be exported.
Planned investments in the Klaipeda plant will be around 8 million euros. The second
phase of factory’s modernization provides energy sector upgrading – at the beginning of
summer will launch own modern boiler house.

In 2006 ROSHEN Confectionery Corporation purchased in Lithuania the AB Klaipėdos
Konditerija factory, which produces the caramel. At the beginning of 2007, the
investments for modernization of this factory was 750 thousand euro. From 2007 to 2010 a
production of the Klaipeda's factory increased from 80 to 300 tons per a month.
In June, 2010 a factory changed status from joint-stock company to closed joint-stock
company and was renamed to UAB "Roshen". At the same time by top-management of
Corporation it was made decision about modernization of factory.
